The AI slide outliner turns a single prompt into a complete carousel structure in seconds — so you start from a real draft instead of a blank canvas. This guide covers how it works and how to get the best results.

What the outliner does

You describe your topic in a sentence, and PXT generates a slide-by-slide outline: a hook slide, a logical sequence of content slides, and a closing call-to-action. Each slide comes with suggested text you can keep, edit, or replace. You're always in control — the AI gives you a starting point, not a locked result.

Step 1: Open the outliner

In the editor, start a New Carousel and choose the AI Outline option (instead of a blank template). A prompt box appears.

Step 2: Write your prompt

Type what you want the carousel to be about. The more specific you are, the better the output. Compare:

  • ✅ Specific: 5 morning habits that help creators stay consistent, aimed at beginners

A good prompt usually names three things: the topic, the format (a list, a how-to, a story), and the audience.

Step 3: Generate and refine

Click Generate. In a few seconds you'll get a full outline. From here:

  • Edit any slide's text directly — the AI draft is fully editable.
  • Add or remove slides to hit the 6–10 slide sweet spot.
  • Reorder slides by dragging them in the slide tray.
  • Regenerate if the direction isn't right, or tweak your prompt and try again.

Step 4: Design and publish

Once the structure is right, apply a template or style your slides, then publish to TikTok or download them. See How to Create Your First Carousel for the full design flow.

Tips for better prompts

  • Lead with a number — "7 ways to…", "3 mistakes…" — list formats structure cleanly into slides.
  • Name the outcome — "…to grow your first 1,000 followers" gives the AI a clear payoff for the final slide.
  • Specify tone — add "casual and punchy" or "professional" to match your brand voice.
  • Keep one idea per carousel — narrow topics produce tighter, more postable outlines than broad ones.

The outliner is fastest when you treat it as a co-writer: generate a draft, then make it yours.
